Today, the European Union has announced the exclusion of Curaçao from its "grey list" of non-cooperative tax jurisdictions, after having implemented important reforms to align with international standards of transparency and tax fairness (Source: AS).
This change represents a great opportunity for growth and business projection between Spain and Curaçao, since it allows, among other things:
1. Greater confidence for investors and companies, facilitating the attraction of foreign capital, strengthening its image as a safe and reliable jurisdiction.
2. Fewer barriers and greater cooperation because restrictions on financial operations and trade agreements with European companies are reduced, promoting the flow of business and bilateral trade.
3. Expansion of opportunities in strategic sectors such as tourism, technology, banking, finance and in general all international commerce business will benefit from greater ease in establishing business relations and accessing legitimate tax incentives.
With this progress, Curaçao continues to position itself and strengthen itself as an attractive hub for Spanish and European investment, generating an environment conducive to the expansion and diversification of business in the Caribbean region.
This milestone comes at a key moment to strengthen trade relations between Spain and Curaçao, just before the II Curaçao-Spain Business Conference, which will be held on April 25 in Madrid.
